In November 2022 Wide Range is asked about the feasibility of a particularly difficult project. The potential new customer HICOF AG (CH), already a manufacturer of systems in the pharmaceutical field, capable of separating, coding, checking and rejecting cartons with printing not accepted by pharmaceutical standards, is looking for a feeder capable of carrying out, integrated in the system named AMAPLAN, all required functions. In particular, for Wide Range, it is the last step – the discarding of non-compliant products – that represents the highest obstacle.
A significant series of contacts with the customer begin, in order to find a solution together. The proposal is to integrate a WR FEEDER 400XL, the longest version able to house an inkjet printer and a camera. After coding and checking by the camera, the case is placed on an automatic belt and put into production for subsequent operations. If the camera check is negative, then a carbon fiber board comes out in a noticeably short time, collects the rejected products and puts it back into a container placed under the feeder.
The machine is delivered in March 2023, after a few visits by the customer to check above all the functioning of the software for the ejection of non-compliant cartons.
Wide Range found itself involved in an exceedingly difficult and at the same time exciting project which, thanks to the skills of both parties, ended with great satisfaction.
